10 believed dead after missing plane crashes in western Alaska

Plane was reported missing Friday afternoon

(NOME, AK.) –A small airplane that was reported missing off the western coast of Alaska has crashed, possibly killing 10 people onboard.
The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted Friday afternoon after the aircraft’s position was lost about 12 miles offshore.
A search led to the discovery of the crashed plane about 30 miles southeast of Nome, Alaska.
Coast Guard members found three deceased people inside the plane.
“The remaining 7 people are believed to be inside the aircraft but are currently inaccessible due to the condition of the plane. Our heartfelt condolences are with those affected by this tragic incident,” Coast Guard officials said.
