Agencies responding to multi-vehicle wreck on U.S. 421

(REXVILLE, Ind.) – Crews are responding to a crash involving multiple vehicles in southern Ripley County early Tuesday evening. 

The accident was reported around 5:30 p.m. in the area of 8249 South U.S. 421. The crash is near the Country Creations Amish Store for those familiar with the area. 

It is unclear how many vehicles are involved at this time, however at least one car is believed to have rolled over.

Several reports indicate that there are multiple people hurt, but the scope of any injuries is not known.

It is also believed that black ice might be the cause of the crash. U.S. 421 is closed north of Rexville near West 700 South due to the accident. There is no estimated time of reopening.
