Approximately 1,000 SEI REMC customers without power after substation fire

(HOLTON, Ind.) — A substation fire has led to a power outage for about 1,000 SEI REMC customers on Wednesday afternoon.

The outages are in the Holton, Osgood, Butlerville and North Vernon areas. 

SEI REMC associates are diligently working to restore electricity for those homes and businesses, as an estimated time for restoration is not known. 

The cause of the fire at the Hopewell Substation is not known at this time.
