(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Motorcyclists helped lead the funeral procession of a Greensburg man on Wednesday afternoon.
66-year-old Hugh Patrick “Pat” Roseberry had a love for motorcycles and was a long time member of ABATE of Indiana.
His family asked the community if bikers could swing by the visitation and rev up their engines at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Wednesday.
More than 30 motorcycles participated and they also led the procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
Iron Sharpens Iron Motorcycle Ministry was one of the groups that stopped by to honor Roseberry.
“It just shows respect for the biker who passed away and we hope it gives the family a good feeling, knowing that there are people who care,” said Iron Sharpens Iron President Ken Kreish who goes by the name ‘Boompa.’
Iron Sharpens Iron is a Shelbyville-based nonprofit group and they get involved in funeral escorts, charity rides, and other initiatives such as providing temporary housing to the homeless.
“We love to help people, and if we see a need and there is a way we can fill that need, we try to, and if we can’t we try to send them somewhere to get them help,” Kreish said.
