(PALATKA, Fla.) – Brookville resident Bill Lowen is off to a hot start in the first tournament of the year in the Bassmaster Elite Series.
Lowen is a veteran of the Elite series with three career runner-up finishes and a first place finish in 2021. He has earned more than $1.6M in career earnings.
He is competing in the 2025 FXR Pro Fish Bassmaster Elite at St. John’s River in Florida this weekend.
Lowen made a splash on Friday when he caught 24.4 pounds worth of fish to put him at the top of the leaderboard. He has a total of 45.9 pounds in the first two days of the tournament.
He advances to Day 3 of the tournament which includes the top 50 anglers Saturday, with hopes of making it in the top ten on Sunday.
The tournament will resume at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
