Crews rescue injured person near Brookville Lake Monday night

Happened near Garr Hill boat ramp

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A search was conducted for two missing people in the trails around Brookville Lake Monday night. 

Around 10:30 p.m., authorities were called to the area of the Garr Hill boat ramp to search for two people who were hunting and had gotten lost in the woods. 

One person had a broken leg, according to first responders.

Authorities with the Indiana DNR, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Letts Fire, and Brookville and Blooming Grove firefighters all responded. 

The two individuals were found shortly after the search began, however, it took nearly five hours to get the injured person out of the woods.

That person was then flown from the scene by UC Air Care. The condition of the person is currently not known.
