Police followed wet footprints to find the driver
(PORT ORCHARD, WA.) – A drunk driver’s night came to an end after crashing into a body of water in Washington State on Tuesday.
Authorities in Kitsap County responded to a report of a car into the water in Dyes Inlet.
A vehicle nearly submerged in the water was found when they got to the scene.
There were also wet footprints on the pavement. Police tracked those footprints to a 22-year-old man who was soaking wet and smelling like alcohol.
“The man admitted drinking but said he didn’t know where he was until he realized his feet were wet,” police said.
The driver told police that he has no idea how he ended up in the inlet. But got himself out of the car before it filled with water.
