The Army veteran serves on the Rushville TWP Fire Department

(RUSHVILLE, Ind.) – A Rushville Township firefighter has been nominated for our FCN First Responder Spotlight!
Walker Rogers hasn’t only served the community but also the country. He is an Army veteran and uses many of the skills he acquired in the military while serving on the department.
The fire department recently promoted him to Lieutenant as his peers and supervisors also see his valuable skill set.
The person who nominated him said Walker is beyond devoted to his volunteer firefighter duties.
“Those who know Walker know that he is always extremely responsive to calls and rarely travels very far from town to always make himself available to respond to any emergency calls or fires,” the nominator said.
“He often responds to calls in the middle of the night and still has to go to his day job the next morning!”
Rogers also prides himself on being one of the first ones to enter a fire and always has his fellow first responders back.
This past September 11, he also helped organize the firefighter stair climb in memory of those who lost their lives on that tragic day.
“He also raised an impressive amount of money for the department during that event as well,” the nominator added.
Rogers is a true community servant and the community of Rushville is fortunate to have him among those answering the call when every second counts!
