Fundraiser launched as mother, young son remain hospitalized after crash

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A fundraiser is underway for a family that was involved in a serious crash in Decatur County last week.

The head-on crash on State Road 3 near Letts led to a mother and son being lifelined from the scene. 

A family member said the mother and the 9-year-old boy will remain hospitalized for the foreseeable future. 

“My nephew has a very long recovery road ahead of him as he suffered several broken bones. My sister in law is a stay at home mother and my brother is the sole provider of their family,” the fundraiser organizer said. 

The family also has three girls and the hospital is an hour-and-a-half away. 

“That being said, my brother is now going to be taking a lot of time off from working, being he now has to be home with his 3 daughters while also going back and fourth from the hospitals to be with his son and wife,” they added.
