Hog Rock opening Wippel’s location in Sunman on Monday

Will be open seven days a week

(SUNMAN, Ind.) – An Osgood restaurant will open their second location at a historic Sunman building on Monday.

Hog Rock Cafe has taken ownership of the former Wippel’s Tavern at 105 West Washington Street.

The restaurant and bar is called ‘Hog Rock at Wippel’s Tavern’ and it will open for the first time at 11 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day.

Monday’s event will feature a limited menu of wings, appetizers and reuben pizza, along with domestic and craft beer.

Local musician Brian ‘Biggin’ Noble will perform at 4 p.m. on Monday.

Owners Jeff and Chrissy Lanham say the restaurant will be open seven days a week with an expanded menu for lunch and dinner.

They added that ‘Biggin’ will be behind the bar on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

The Osgood restaurant is still open and is located at 345 E. Ripley Street.

The original Hog Rock Cafe in Milan was destroyed by a fire in November of 2020.
