IU Indy basketball bus destroyed by fire near Lawrenceburg

Happened early Sunday evening

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A bus carrying the IU Indy Men’s Basketball team was destroyed by a fire near Lawrenceburg on Sunday.
The bus had a mechanical issue and caught fire on I-275 near the 16 mile marker.
The team was returning home after playing at Northern Kentucky University this afternoon.
Firefighters confirmed that nobody was hurt but the bus was deemed a total loss.
Agencies that responded included Greendale, Lawrenceburg, Miller-York and Bright fire departments.
One first responder said that the IU Indy team boarded a Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation bus and were taken to another charter bus.
