Jac-Cen-Del, South Ripley team up for Turnover Hunger on February 28

Final game of the season at Jac-Cen-Del

(OSGOOD, Ind.) – Two rivals will use their upcoming basketball game to raise funds for less fortunate kids in Ripley County.

South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del will participate in Turnover Hunger, which raises funds for the Weekend Backsack Program through the Ripley County Community Foundation.

Turnover Hunger has traditionally taken place between Batesville and Milan football teams, and funds are generated through donations as well as defensive turnovers throughout the season.

The basketball game will take place February 28 at Jac-Cen-Del and community members are encouraged to donate.

"Food insecurity affects nearly 14.9% of children in Ripley County, according to Feeding America," said Amy Streator, Executive Director of the Ripley County Community Foundation. "We know that the average meal costs just $3.42, so even small contributions can make a big difference in the lives of local children. We are inspired by the leadership and compassion of our student athletes as they take on this challenge to support their peers and build a stronger, healthier community.”

You can contribute to Turnover Hunger by donating through the Ripley County Community Foundation’s website at https://rccfonline.org/impact/initiatives/turnover-hunger
