Main Street Greensburg earns National Designation

Recognized for commitment to improving downtown Greensburg

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Main Street Greensburg has earned the national accreditation from the Main Street America program.

The recognition is earned through meeting standards including program governance, leadership, partnerships, engagement and innovative programming.

“We are ecstatic to receive this designation,” said Allison Beck, Executive Director of Main Street Greensburg. “This accreditation reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, local businesses, and community partners. Together, we are making downtown Greensburg a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.”

Main Street Greensburg has helped lead the way in revitalizing the downtown district, through initiatives such as community events, historic preservation, business recruitment, and technical assistance.

Over the past year, the organization has welcomed new businesses, assisted in two large revitalization projects, and was awarded $50,000 to grant to small businesses.

“The National American Main Street accreditation is a milestone that underscores the organization’s impact and sets the stage for continued success. Accredited Main Street programs play a vital role in economic and community development nationwide,” the organization added.
