Milan family loses home in fire, donations sought

Seeking adult clothing, toys, monetary donations

(MILAN, Ind.) – A Milan family lost their home in a house fire on Friday night.

The fire began around 6:30 p.m. at a home owned by Francis and Katie Plymate on Wingate Road in Moores Hill.

“Not only did I raise my boys here but I was raised in this house. To see it go up and see it gone, is the hardest pill to swallow,” Katie said.

They have three kids who attend Milan Schools and community members are stepping up with donations.

Katie believes they have received enough donations for kids' clothing so far.

Their biggest current needs are adult clothing and toys for the children.

Here are the sizes for adult clothing:

Women’s - Size 14 long pants and L/xl shirts size 11 shoe.

Mens- 34x34 and xl shirts size 11.5 shoe

Donations of clothes, money or toys can be dropped at 1624 South State Road 101 in Dillsboro.
