(MILAN, Ind.) – Milan High School got a very unexpected shoutout during a Major League Baseball game on Friday night.
The New York Mets are playing the Athletics in Sacramento, California.
The Athletics are formally of Oakland and playing their home games in a minor league stadium this season.
During the Mets broadcast on SNY, the broadcaster was describing the minor league stadium when he made a reference to Milan High School. \
While no other context was given, we assume it is a reference to the Milan 1954 basketball team that inspired the movie Hoosiers through their victory over a much larger school.
