Ripley County's K-9 gave positive alert during traffic stop

(MILAN, Ind.) – A woman is accused of meth possession after a traffic stop in Milan on Thursday night.
Around 8 p.m., Ripley County Deputy Jonathan Day stopped a vehicle that was driven by 23-year-old Chalyn Schachel, of Milan.
Deputy Day requested the department’s K-9 partner to come to the traffic stop. K-9 Dex gave a positive alert of drugs in the vehicle, deputies said.
A search led to what deputies believe to be methamphetamine in Schachel’s purse.
She was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
