Multiple departments participate in tournament

(SPRING LAKE, MN.) – Fundraising can be a challenge at times for local fire departments.
In Minnesota, several small departments come together each year for a unique winter event called the Charity Boot Hockey Tournament.
This year held deeper meaning as proceeds went to a fire chief’s son who is battling Leukemia.
John Paszkeiwicz is the fire chief at the Long Lake Fire Department.
His 9-year-old son Weston has been undergoing treatments since January 3.
The community has embraced the family and a Go Fund Me account has already raised $81,000.
