Began playing at St. Maurice Catholic Church in 1972
(NAPOLEON, Ind.) – The organist at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon is far beyond his rookie year.
Mark ‘Weeble’ Wirth began playing the organ there back in 1972, marking 53 years in 2025.
It all began when he was 12-years-old when a priest asked him to play for a C-C-D mass and then for the entire congregation that same weekend.
Wirth has dedicated the past half-century to playing the organ at the church.
He has even played during his daughter’s wedding along with countless other marriages, funerals and masses.
He also recalls listening to the Bengals game during a Confirmation mass a few years back.
