North Decatur grad releases debut song

Hopes to have long future in the music industry

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A recent North Decatur grad is following his musical dreams.

Aiden O’Dell has played in the school band as well as on the Worship team at Community Church of Greensburg.

He attends Taylor University where a music professor encouraged him to not only continue playing music, but to get involved in songwriting.

The first song he ever wrote is called ‘Ocean Blue’ and it has just been released.

Aiden wrote the song in about 20 minutes and says it was inspired by a previous high school relationship.

The genre is a blend between Alternative Folk and Singer/Songwriter.

He has learned two things already in his young music career.

“I give all my talent back to God and to my family who are the ones that have supported me and funded a lot of this. Making music is not nearly as cheap as I thought it was,” he said.

He added that he fears having the potential to do something but not going after it. He encourages anyone who has a dream or passion before it’s too late.

O’Dell is majoring in Marketing and minoring in music at Taylor University.

He has dreams of growing his musical career and also wants to work in the music industry long-term.

Aiden isn’t just recording music in college as he also serves as the kicker for the Taylor University football team.
