The Pirates are currently 7-1 on the season

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Greensburg senior Joey Everroad had a successful sophomore season where he briefly led the state in home runs early in the season.

He was looking forward to his junior year when everything came to a stop. Everroad tore his ACL and was forced to miss the entire season last year.

After months of recovering, he was ready to go for the 2025 season and has gotten off to an incredible start.

Everroad currently leads all of Indiana with six home runs. He also has a slugging percentage of 1.318 which is second best in the state.

“I feel accomplished but know I am not finished yet. Coming off the injury last year, I have something to prove to those who presumed that I wouldn’t be as good as I once was,” Everroad said.

Joey isn’t looking for individual attention as he is focused on competing together with his Pirate teammates.

“We have a really good group of players that are coachable. From a team aspect, we have a lot of hardworking individuals,” he said.

“We have grit, not expectations,” he added.

The Pirates are currently 7-1 on the season and are scheduled to host Batesville on Monday.

Everroad will play baseball at Vincennes University next year.
