(TRAVERSE CITY, MI.) – New technology helped police find a man who was hiding after a car crash in northern Michigan.

Grand Traverse County deputies were called to the scene of a crash that the driver had ran away from.

The deputies used a thermal imaging drone to locate the driver. They also deployed a  K-9 to search the area where the driver had been hiding.

The K-9 located a backpack that was hidden in snow. Police say the backpack contained drugs and two guns.
