Will purchase data collecting equipment

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – South Decatur FFA teacher Brooke Sides has received a National FFA Classroom Enhancement Grant for $8,659.
Sides is one of just 33 Indiana agricultural educators to receive the award.
The grant supports agricultural education programs and FFA chapters by providing resources for upgrading, repairing, or purchasing equipment to enhance agricultural education delivery. Additionally, these funds may be used to expand agricultural education to underrepresented and marginalized students.
"Receiving this grant is a tremendous opportunity to improve our program and provide students with more opportunities in agriculture," said Sides. "The funds from this grant will be used to purchase data collecting equipment, sensors, new microscopes, and so much more. These resources will allow our students to gain hands-on experiences in the field of agriculture, as well as the fields of science, statistics, and math. I am so excited to put the equipment we are purchasing to good use for our students.”
East Central’s FFA teacher McCord Snider also earned the grant.
