Will give back to a local nonprofit
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – South Decatur’s Student Council will be collecting donations during the home game against North Decatur on Friday, January 17.
The funds will be given to Decatur County 4 Kids, a local nonprofit dedicated to child abuse prevention.
The primary goal of the nonprofit is to provide education and increase awareness, in an effort to curb child abuse locally and beyond.
Student Council members will hold a pie raffle, face painting, chuck-a-duck and will have shirts for purchase.
“Your support during this drive will go toward helping educate others to stop child maltreatment in Indiana before it starts,” they said.
Also during the game, the student council will collect new coats, hats and gloves. Those items will be given to needy students throughout the community. So far, the council has given out more than 200 coats just this year!
