Switz Co. grad, 812 student reporter goes #1 on Amazon for children's book

Cadyn is pursuing a pursuing a career in elementary education

(VEVAY, Ind.) – Cadyn Smithson is a 2024 graduate of Switzerland County High School who is majoring in elementary education at the University of Southern Indiana.


He is also a great writer and a close friend of The 812!


Smithson has combined his passion for elementary education and journalism to publish children's books. He released his first book at the age of 17.


He just released his second book and it quickly rose up the charts to be #1 on Amazon’s Children's General & Other Myth Books list. 


The book is calledThe Secret of the Silent Seeds’ and it starts with a little girl named Isla who wants to grow a garden.
