Graduation was held at Butler University

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Two local Special Olympic athletes earned their certificates of graduation this weekend.
Benji Hyatt and Kevin Beiersdorfer are members of Special Olympics of Ripley, Ohio and Dearborn Counties (ROD).
They graduated from Athlete Leadership University (ALPS), which is a program that equips athletes with the skills to take leadership positions within their community and the broader Special Olympics movement.
Hyatt majored in Digital Media and was mentored by Dan Rinck, who serves as the Athlete Leadership Coordinator for ROD.
Beiersdorfer majored in Coaching and was mentored by Caz Burdette.
During the graduation ceremony at Butler University, Mary Hinkle was also recognized for five years of mentoring athletes.
