(HAMILTON, OH.) – A semi allegedly stolen in Indiana led to a police chase in the Cincinnati area on Saturday afternoon.
The pursuit began in Middletown around 12:50 p.m. and lasted for about an hour-and-a-half.
At one point, the semi driver was throwing hammers and tools out of the window in an effort to strike the police cruisers that were following, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers eventually deployed stop sticks, which is a tire-deflation device that was invented by a former ISP Versailles Post trooper.
The stop sticks worked effectively and led the semi to running off the road in Hamilton.
37-year-old Joseph Allen Horton was arrested and charged with Failure to Comply and Receiving Stolen Property. The sheriff’s office says Horton reportedly does not have a current address.
It hasn't been specified yet as to where in Indiana the semi was allegedly taken from.
